OUR FAVOURITE AWARDS CEREMONY JEWELLERY

JEWELS WORTHY OF AN AWARD

OUR AWARD SEASON FAVOURITES

With the recent emmy awards being heralded for incredible style statement moments we felt it prudent to remember the stunning red carpet jewellery that caught our eye over the last year. We've selected our favourite pieces from the world's most prestigious award ceremony's and pay homage to the ladies that showcased them. Celebrities adorn the biggest and best jewels, with designers desperate for their collections to make an appearance on the red carpet, the Golden Globes, Baftas, The Oscars...we always look forward to seeing who wore it well? who wore it best? and who's jewellery made our mouth's truly water. It's not about the flesh on show, nor the gown from head-to-toe, but most definitely the jewellery that makes our headlines!!

GOLDEN GLOBES

It was a memorable year for jewellery on the Golden Globes red carpet. With last year's historical fashion restraint in appreciation for the 'me too' movement, this year's ceremony saw a return to excess and stylish glamour. Gowns were bold and colourful but the jewellery stole the show with elaborate necklaces and earrings making BIG statements.

Lady Gaga led the way with a jewellery suite worth a staggering $5 million, loaned by Tiffany & Co. Her display of jewels included the incredible ‘Aurora’ necklace featuring 300 round brilliant diamonds and a 20 carat pear cut centre stone that plunged beneath her neckline. Her collection was complete with $115,000 diamond and platinum cluster earrings and a sparkling trio of bracelets.

Lupita Nyong’o delighted and dazzled us wearing hanging Bvlgari earrings, a drop trilogy cascading below the ear; the perfect accompaniment to her midnight blue gown.

The 2018 winner of ‘Actress in a Musical’ award, Saiorse Ronan, added a dash of colour to her silver dress, wearing Chopard earrings that beautifully paired emeralds and diamonds, effortlessly earning our attention.

Malaysian starlet and Bond girl (Tomorrow Never Dies) Michele Yeoh wore an exquisite pairing of diamond drop earrings and necklace from Debeers while Allison Janey brought colour and wow-factor with a gold and gemstone chunky necklace from David Webb.

THE OSCARS 2019

The 91st Academy Awards as always, gave jewellery lovers something to celebrate. While jewellery history was made when lady gaga stepped onto the red carpet in the legendary 128.54 carat Tiffany yellow diamond, hers was not the only necklace to draw attention. Charlize Theron epitomised red carpet chic with her layering of Bulgari diamond necklaces, including a double-wrapped Serpenti over her high-neck Dior gown. Glenn Close went to Cartier's archive, opting for an exquisite pair of 1990s yellow gold and diamond earrings, one of many stars to adorn the pieces of yester year.

The Baftas

The BAFTAs always deliver cosmopolitan red carpet glamour coupled with a feast of stylish jewels. Our ‘Oscars’ equivalent is a star studded evening, taking place at the Royal Albert Hall and is attended annually by screen, stage and figurative royalty. An evening of prestige, sophistication and acknowledgement for the year’s stand out theatrical performances chosen by the British Academy.
