WE JUST LOVE A CELEBRITY PROPOSAL

Superstar singer Katy Perry announced her engagement to Orlando Bloom on 15th February, following his surprise Valentine's Day proposal. As perfect as it sounds, the proposal took place in a helicopter although it didn't go entirely to plan. One thing's for sure though, she loves her diamond and ruby engagement ring, which she had dropped some hints about beforehand. And who can blame her?

Orlando pulled out all the stops to ensure his proposal was a romantic and memorable affair – but it didn't all go to plan! The Chained to the Rhythm singer shared all the details of her engagement during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, revealing that it happened after a dinner date on Valentine's Day. While Katy thought they were going to an art exhibition, she was surprised when their car pulled up to a helicopter pad, to take them on a private flight. "We had champagne in the helicopter and the box was in his pocket, and he had written down everything he wanted to say in a note to divert," Katy said. "He was going to pull [the ring box] out while I was reading it."

However, as Orlando subtly tried to pull the ring box out of his pocket without Katy noticing, he ripped the jacket and knocked a champagne bottle with his elbow, almost blowing the special moment. "I'm still reading this note and he's pulling out this box that's too big for his coat pocket and his elbow goes into the champagne and I'm like, 'No, I'm just reading this note, I know you're not doing anything,'" she said.

The actor was obviously confident that Katy wouldn't turn him down, as he had already gathered their friends and family nearby for an engagement party, which is where they took the Instagram photos that shared their happy news, giving a first glimpse at Katy's dazzling ring. "He did so well," she said of Orlando's elaborate plans.

Katy also admitted she had given her boyfriend some hints about the types of engagement rings she likes before he presented her with her striking ring that consists of eight white diamonds surrounding a large crimson coloured stone. "I voiced my opinions," she joked.

recalls how the fashion designer got down on one knee whilst staying at the Hoshinoya,

Tokyo and presented her with a yellow diamond ring (one of our favourite engagement

ring styles). "I said yes immediately!" Fleur exclaimed. "How Marcel did everything was

just wonderful. We're in a really traditional Japanese hotel and there were petals on the

bed and champagne – when we first got here I was like, 'Oh my goodness, this hotel goes

above and beyond!' Then I turned around and he was there, with the ring. He said: 'Fleur

East, will you be my wife?'

Jurassic World star Chris Pratt surprised fans in January when he announced his engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger, after only a few months of dating. The dad-of-one announced the happy news in an Instagram post which showed the pair holding one another with Katherine looking at her beautiful new engagement ring. The caption read: "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I'm thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go! Ideally we'd have kept this secret for as long as possible. But considering there's paparazzi camped out in the alley behind our house and they document everything whether we like it or not, we'll take the lead here and release this statement."

news with an original poem that she published to Reddit. The poem

brought tears of joy and went like this:

In January, it emerged that Rafa Nadal had proposed to his long term girlfriend Mery Perelló. The couple, who have been in a committed relationship for 14 years, are set to tie the knot this autumn in a Mallorca-based ceremony. Rafa proposed to Mery, also known as Xisca, back in May during a romantic trip to Rome, but the couple kept it private for the first eight months of their engagement, I wonder if they will tie the knot in secret too?!

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel shared the happy news of his engagement with girlfriend Laura Von Lindholm at the beginning of February, after proposing during an exotic trip to the Maldives. The 55-year-old shared a blurry black-and-white snap of himself and Laura kissing on Instagram, with her engagement ring visible on her left hand. "She said yes," he wrote over the image, adding in the caption: "So that makes me the lucky one." Meanwhile, Laura also shared a selfie giving a glimpse at her stunning diamond ring, writing: "My light, my love… Yes yes yes!"
