How to Estimate Your Partner's Ring Size
Don't let ring size uncertainty hold you back from the perfect proposal. With Bond's complimentary 60-day resize window, there's no need to worry if you're a little off — we'll correct it with ease.
Our expert consultants use a combination of your partner's clothing size, height, and build to make a highly accurate size estimation — this method works remarkably well. Sharing a photograph that clearly shows your partner's hand can help our team refine the estimate even further.
It's actually very common for an engagement ring to need a small adjustment of half to one full size after the proposal. This is a straightforward process that our goldsmiths perform with precision — and it's included in your purchase within the first 60 days.

Please note that Bond Jewellery & Diamonds can only resize rings that have been purchased from us. We are unable to offer resizing for rings sourced elsewhere.
Eligibility
Can Every Ring Be Resized?
In almost all cases, yes — every Bond ring can be resized. In rare instances where a design is structurally unsuitable for a traditional resize, we will remake the ring entirely to achieve the right fit. Either way, you're covered within your 60-day complimentary window.
Fully set eternity rings and 100% diamond-covered bands sometimes fall into the "remake" category. This is still included at no charge within the first 60 days. If you are designing such a piece, we recommend considering a 70% diamond coverage option, which preserves a section of plain metal at the back of the shank — making resizing much more straightforward should it be needed.
If your ring features an engraving, please be aware that resizing may affect the inscription. We suggest confirming the perfect fit before proceeding with any personalised engraving.

The Process
How Does Ring Resizing Work?
Ring resizing is a skilled craft requiring precision and care. Our goldsmiths follow a meticulous four-stage process to ensure your ring looks and feels flawless after every alteration.
Cutting the Shank
The ring is carefully cut at the back of the band. For a reduction in size, a precise amount of metal is removed; for an increase, a measured section of matching metal is introduced.
Precision Sizing
Our goldsmith uses a mandrel and measuring tools to verify the exact target size before proceeding, ensuring accuracy down to a quarter size.
Laser Welding
Using advanced laser welding technology, the metal is fused to create a flawless, seamless join — leaving no trace of the alteration.
Polish & QC Check
The ring is then polished to its original lustre and undergoes a thorough quality control inspection before being returned to you.
Timing
How Long Does a Resize Take?
Standard resizing is typically completed within one working week.
More complex designs, or those that require remaking rather than a straightforward alteration, may take a little longer. When you bring your ring in to our team, your consultant will assess the work required and provide you with a precise completion date.
For the most accurate and comfortable result, we recommend having your finger measured in person at our showroom. Finger sizes can vary slightly throughout the day, so morning measurements tend to be the most reliable.

If you're unable to visit our showroom in person, don't worry — we can guide you through the sizing process remotely. Our team will walk you through measuring your finger at home, or advise you on using our printable ring sizer to determine the right size before your ring is sent back to us.
